During major events, such as the current Covid-19 pandemic, many charities face increased demand on their services. The coronavirus event certainly falls into that category with the addition of strained economic conditions which have seen many charities, such as Foundations, unable to undertake their regular objectives.
The Impact Suite saw an opportunity to assist the charities with high demand by facilitating a portal where charities can post what support they need and other charities and individuals (Charity Mates) can offer their support. For example, a charity which provides food hampers for the needy now needs to meet indoor social distancing rules as well as increased demand. Their warehouse space may not be sufficient at the moment. To assist there may be a local sporting club or group with a hall or clubhouse that currently cannot be used. In addition volunteers from those clubs or groups, or other charities, may be happy to assist with the preparation of hampers or delivery of goods to those in need.
The Charity Mates portal is a means to enable all charities to come together to have a positive social impact on Australians. Charity Mates - mates helping mates is the Aussie way of life.
