$50,000 is available to charities from the Women & Change Giving Circle. Since 2014 Women & Change has gifted more than $250,000 to local charities making real change in Queensland.

The 2019 Women & Change grant round will provide a grant of up to $50,000 to a registered Australian charity that works to provide support to those in Queensland who are most disadvantaged.

Their 2018 grant winner was The Carers Foundation Australia. The grant was used to fund three day camps for Queensland’s young carers in a local rainforest locale. Often these carers are young teenagers who’ve been caring for a sick parent their entire lives, some say they have never known happiness. The camps make an enormous impact on the mental and physical health of these children who are taking on such an enormous responsibility. Respite for Carers is not currently supported by the NDIS and The Carers Foundation Australia research confirms they are the only provider of this service. Over the next 12 months these retreats will help connect and protect more than 80 young Queensland carers.

The grant round is open for Expressions of Interest 1 July 2019, closing 30 August.
Short-listed applicants will be notified by 30 September 2019 then invited to submit a full proposal. Women & Change, Queensland’s first Giving Circle, was initiated by a group of Brisbane women who are all passionate about helping people and causes in the greatest need.
