Specifically designed for organisations with less than $2million turnover, the scholarships are being offered to 20 individuals in each state and territory (160 in total around the country) to the AICD’s highly-regarded education programs including the NFP Foundations of Directorship.
The scholarships form part of the AICD’s strong commitment to the NFP sector. The AICD offers a range of programs and resources to NFP organisations and their directors to maintain the high standards of governance across the sector.
In announcing these scholarships, Angus Armour, Managing Director and CEO of the AICD, reaffirmed the importance of the sector and its governance to the community.
“A strong NFP sector is vital to Australia’s future as a society and as an economy. From local sporting clubs to aged care, NFPs provide vital services to communities across the country. The charity sector alone contributes more than $140 billion to the economy,” he said.
“Good governance remains critically important to the NFP sector. With high community expectations and an increasingly complex and evolving operating environment, NFP directors, particularly of small organisations, face difficult challenges in steering their organisations to success. The AICD provides these scholarships to support them in that task.”
Applications for the AICD Not-for-Profit Scholarships program are now open and close on Wednesday 13 June 2018.
Scholarship applicants must be directors, managers or prospective directors of NFP organisations who would otherwise be unable to attend governance education programs due to financial constraints. The application process is being managed by the Australian Scholarship Foundation (ASF), who have for over 10 years experience helping organisations provide training opportunities to NFP’s.Share on Twitter Share on Facebook
